Getting Around: the Venice Card

The Venice Connected website says:
...you can book and buy online at the most convenient price all the tourist services delivered to you by the city of Venice, such as public transport, entrance to municipal museum, car park and rest rooms. You need to book at least 15 days in advance to get cheapest rates, unfortunately if you do not book via Venice Connected you will get the on site rates that are more expensive.

I agree--it's a great bargain. At the very least, you should select the 7-day Public Transport ticket. This lets you hop on and off the vaporetti without worrying about tickets. They don't check for tickets very often, but if you get caught it's a big fine--payable right then and there.

If you need to visit the WC often, you can add the "Toilet Card," under services. I think it's more fun to buy something at a bar and use their WC.

If you want to visit museums, there are many discounts available. It's useful if you want to visit the sites listed. The afternoon ticket option might be a better choice--you may miss some of the crowds.

Finally, there's a free WiFi offer and free admission to the Casino option.
